Position Overview

The Travel Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the surgical team, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care throughout the surgical process.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certification: Candidates must hold certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Job Specifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Patient Care: Potential to care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to float to different units as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent military training with at least five years of experience preferred.
  • Active participation in educational programs to enhance and maintain clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Recent experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
  • Possession of necessary technical skills and a keen interest in biological care, along with a basic understanding of health concepts.
Work Schedule

The position involves a day shift consisting of five 8-hour shifts, with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as required by the unit, along with on-call duties.

Unit-Specific Information

The Certified Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the surgical team, delivering direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Additional Information
