Position Overview

The Travel Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care throughout the surgical process.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certification: Must hold certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Job Details
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting is required.
  • Patient Care: Responsibilities may include caring for patients with COVID-19.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to float to different units as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent military training with at least five years of experience preferred.
  • Participation in ongoing educational programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge is essential.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are necessary.
  • Recent experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
  • Technical skills and a foundational understanding of health concepts are required.
Work Schedule

Shifts are typically during the day, consisting of 5x8 hour shifts, with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as required by the unit.

Role Responsibilities

The Certified Surgical Technologist is integral to the surgical team, providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
