Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Pipe Layer to join our team at Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC. As a Pipe Layer, you will work under the direction of a foreman or superintendent and collaborate with a team of construction professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grade in the bottom of the trench using a shovel.
  • Climb up and down an extension ladder to access trenches safely.
  • Apply HGC's core values in daily duties to ensure a positive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, clients, and vendor partners.
  • Understand and follow directions from a foreman or superintendent to ensure project success.
  • Attend work regularly and be available for overtime assignments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or superintendent.
  • Collaborate with teammates to achieve project goals and demonstrate effective teamwork skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including equipment and tools.
  • Participate in training programs at the HGC Academy to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7AM-5:30PM, or other schedules as assigned by the foreman or superintendent.
  • Working knowledge of pipe laser setup and operation.
  • Proficiency in proper rigging techniques.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Trenching and Shoring guidelines.
  • Knowledge of pipe laying tools, including tape measures and four-foot levels.
  • At least one year of industry-related experience.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to understand project goals and direction.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Age 18 or older.
Work Environment
  • Able to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required to perform essential duties.
  • Able to climb on and off equipment safely while maintaining three points of contact.
  • Constant alertness and situational awareness while on the job site.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to communicate audibly and visually while exposed to noise, dust, and substances commonly found on construction sites.
  • Able to use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and carrying of construction materials.
  • Able to lift 40-80 lbs regularly.
