Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team at Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation of pipes and other infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Maintain Trench Integrity**: Use shovels and other equipment to maintain the grade in the bottom of the trench.
  • **Climb and Work at Heights**: Climb up and down extension ladders to access trenches and perform tasks.
  • **Adhere to Company Values**: Utilize Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC's core values in daily duties.
  • **Effective Communication**: Communicate professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients, and vendor partners.
  • **Follow Directions**: Understand, interpret, and follow directions from a foreman or superintendent.
  • **Attendance and Overtime**: Maintain attendance at work, including presence at work during regular work hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the foreman or superintendent. Acceptance of overtime assignments also may be required in order to operational needs.
  • **Teamwork and Adaptability**: Demonstrate effective skills as a teammate, including but not limited to assisting in other roles on the crew.
  • **Equipment Maintenance**: Maintain a clean inside of all equipment.
  • **Training and Development**: Attend training at Hoopaugh Grading Company, LLC's Academy.
Requirements
  • **Work Schedule**: Must be willing to work Monday through Friday 7AM-5:30PM, or other schedule as may be assigned by the foreman or superintendent, as well as Saturdays when needed.
  • **Pipe Laser Operation**: Must have working knowledge of setup and operation of a pipe laser.
  • **Rigging Techniques**: Must have proficiency in proper rigging techniques.
  • **OSHA Compliance**: Must be familiar with OSHA Trenching and Shoring guidelines.
  • **Pipe Laying Tools**: Must be familiar with pipe laying tools, including but not limited to a tape measure and four-foot level.
  • **Industry Experience**: Must have one (1) year or more of industry-related experience.
  • **Communication Skills**: Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
  • **Site Awareness**: Must be able to understand site goals and direction.
  • **Background Check**: Must pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.
  • **Transportation**: Must have reliable transportation.
  • **Age Requirement**: Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands
  • **Physical Activity**: Able to stand/sit for extended periods of time, as well as stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required to perform essential duties.
  • **Equipment Operation**: Able to climb on and off equipment safely while maintaining three (3) points of contact.
  • **Alertness**: Must maintain constant alertness and situational awareness while on the job site.
  • **Weather Conditions**: Able to perform job responsibilities outdoors, in all types of weather conditions.
  • **Noise and Substances**: Able to communicate audibly and visually while exposed to varying levels of noise, dust and substances commonly found on construction sites.
  • **Lifting and Carrying**: Able to use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and carrying of construction materials.
  • **Weight Lifting**: Able to lift 40-80 lbs on a regular basis.
