Job Description

United Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role is crucial in managing the company's financial integrity, compliance, and fiscal management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing financial operations, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.

The Financial Operations Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Finance to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's long-term goals.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including AR, AP, GL, job cost accounting, payroll, and budgeting.
  • Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assisting the VP of Finance in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and all relevant federal, state, and local laws.
  • Leading and mentoring the accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Conducting financial analysis and presenting findings to executive management to support decision-making.
  • Managing cash flow and cash flow forecasting.
  • Coordinating with external auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Collaborating with project managers and department heads to ensure accurate job costing, project forecasting, and reporting.
  • Assisting in the development of the company's annual budget and long-term financial plans.
  • Evaluating current accounting systems and recommending software upgrades or changes as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry.
