Your Role at NTT DATA

As a Facilities Engineer, you will oversee and execute daily maintenance and property management tasks within a designated area, collaborating with both internal staff and external contractors. This role requires flexibility to address emergencies outside of standard hours, ensuring consistent attendance for optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute maintenance and project activities for properties and facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building's interior and exterior, ensuring cleanliness and proper maintenance of all areas.
  • Supervise janitorial and facility personnel to maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the premises.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Team regarding any work that may affect critical systems or client areas.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely restocking of facility-related items while optimizing costs.
  • Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Regional or Local Facilities Manager, continually seeking process improvements.
  • Facilitate property requests, including furniture and material relocations.
  • Perform routine repairs and installations, including minor surface patches and door repairs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks as directed by the Site Property Manager.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of facilities for events, ensuring all arrangements are in place.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and updates on maintenance and repair statuses.
  • Support leadership in achieving organizational performance goals and budget adherence.
  • Participate in monthly inspections with the Site Property Manager.
  • Carry out other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire safety, and building systems.
  • Technical skills for managing routine maintenance on HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems.
  • Effective communication abilities across verbal, written, and visual mediums.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and product data sheets.
  • Problem-solving skills for addressing building and equipment issues with minimal oversight.
  • Capability to operate various equipment safely and effectively.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office, data entry, and CMMS.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with hand and machine tools.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's degree or 2-3 years of technical training with a certification is preferred.
  • Experience with hand and machine tools is necessary.
  • Familiarity with fire and life safety protocols is advantageous.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily involves walking, standing, and bending, with some sitting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and visual means.
  • Close visual work on computer screens.
  • Dexterity required for operating equipment and using a computer.
  • Capacity to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.

Work Environment

  • Typical office and data center settings with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Onsite work is required; telecommuting is not an option.

Special Requirements

  • Willingness to work outside standard hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Participation in after-hours notification protocols is required.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities may be necessary.
  • Forklift certification will be provided during employment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, PPE, and NFPA 70E standards is essential.
  • CPR/First Aid certification will be provided during employment.
  • Steel-toed safety shoes are mandatory.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license is required.
