At Terran Orbital, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer GSE Tooling Design. This role will support the mechanical engineering team's efforts in designing, analyzing, building, and testing the spacecraft and its subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) and Tooling in support of the assembly, integration, and test of spacecraft, spacecraft systems, and components.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to identify, develop requirements for, and deliver to production MGSE and Tooling.
- Create and maintain CAD models of GSE/Tooling assemblies and components.
- Perform design-oriented analysis of GSE and tooling applications.
- Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, automation engineers, and production personnel on implementing design for manufacturing and assembly best practices.
- Support Assembly, Integration, and Test teams on the production floor as related to GSE and Tooling use.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in relevant mechanical systems in aerospace, defense, automotive, or related industry.
- Mechanical design and analysis experience using CAD, hand calculations, and analysis tools.
- Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles.
- Experience in hardware manufacturing: assembly, integration, testing, fabrication, machining, etc.

Physical Demands:
