The Alzheimer's Association is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team, you will be responsible for building relationships with the Latino community to promote and expand our program and services, increasing engagement in our mission.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement strategies to build community awareness of the Alzheimer's Association's services and resources in the Latino community.
- Expand the utilization of programs and services in the chapter and partner with colleagues to expand overall reach in the Latino Community.
- Serve as a community liaison and spokesperson at relevant community events to build collaborative partnerships with strategic partner agencies to reach new constituents.
- Recruit and train volunteers to serve as community connectors and educators.
- Develop, lead, and mobilize the Latino Advisory Council to elevate the Alzheimer's Association's presence and reach in the Latino Community chapter-wise.
- Schedule, plan, market, and oversee the delivery of core services and community forums to reach and serve the Latino community.
- Develop and expand Latino national and chapter-wide partnerships to meet Key Performance Indicators for our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion priorities.
- Serve as a media spokesperson for the Association. Collaborate with the communications department in marketing strategies to engage Latinos on all communication channels.
- Foster full mission community engagement, including advocacy and signature events.
- Oversee the Social Media Facebook page and Newsletter for the Latino Outreach Team.
- Lead grant-funded outreach efforts. Track and report statistics for grant requirements.
- Support the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Team with data entry into the Moves Management System.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience.
- 3 years of experience and demonstrated success in outreach to the Latino community.
- Community mobilization and volunteer recruitment and management experience.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to speak, read, and write Spanish proficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion.
Employees working 24 hours/week or more are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flex accounts, short and long-term disability, life insurance, long-term care insurance, tuition reimbursement, generous Paid Time Off, 12 annual holidays, and Paid Family Leave.
