The Opportunity

GRID Alternatives is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Specialist to join our Outreach Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in executing outreach strategies for our projects and programs, focusing on single-family solar and community solar initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage with low-income communities and promote GRID's services.
  • Collaborate with regional teams, construction, workforce development, communications, philanthropy, and programs teams to plan and execute outreach activities.
  • Provide excellent client experience through effective communication and education on GRID's offerings.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations, local government agencies, and other groups to support client acquisition and education goals.
  • Represent GRID at community events and meetings to generate leads, increase awareness, and convey the importance of renewable energy access.
  • Curate and write client stories, provide content support for marketing materials, and maintain GRID's branding.
  • Meet KPIs for approved applications and other outreach-related goals.

Requirements:

  • Passion for environmental and social justice, sustainability, affordable housing, and the environment.
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations and teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with low-income communities.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of solar energy and CRM systems.
