Job Summary

Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions is seeking a skilled Telework Coding Specialist to support and provide coding and compliance training to clinical personnel, billing, and/or other client staff. The ideal candidate will establish effective communication with clinical staff, and/or hospital staff to address documentation, coding, and reimbursement issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnosis data submissions to clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Develop monthly productivity and revenue projections
  • Responsible for chart assignment oversight and monitoring accounts on hold
  • Prepare data collection reports for leadership
  • Monitor diagnosis submission progress; audit diagnosis submission files to ensure accuracy
  • Review, analyze, and oversee prebill/post bill reviews and pending accounts
  • Work to resolve workflow, systems, and complex matters related to coding
Requirements
  • Three to five years' experience performing medical record coding in an acute care setting
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information, Nursing, or other related field, or formal coding classes completed and passed
  • AHIMA Credentials, and/or AAPC
Work Environment

The Telework Coding Specialist will work in a private office space in the coder's home per Conifer's Telecommuter Policy as defined in the Telecommuting Program Guide.
