Overview

The Air Line Pilots Association, International, recognized as the largest union for airline pilots and a leading entity in aviation safety, is seeking a qualified Benefits Administration Specialist to enhance their team.

Key Responsibilities

The Benefits Administration Specialist will collaborate with fellow Benefits Specialists, Benefits Attorneys, and other professionals within the Retirement & Insurance (R&I) department to support pilot governing bodies concerning their employee benefits programs. This position encompasses a variety of benefit areas, including group life, health, dental, disability, and Section 125 plans. Responsibilities include:
  • Providing expert technical assistance on benefit-related inquiries.
  • Drafting communications pertinent to benefits.
  • Preparing informative newsletters.
  • Facilitating benefits training sessions.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Pre-Law, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required; or equivalent education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in employee benefits is essential, with preference for candidates with extensive experience.
  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of retirement and welfare benefits is necessary.
  • Understanding of legal frameworks governing retirement and welfare benefits, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, and the Internal Revenue Code, is crucial.
  • Exceptional communication skills are vital for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
