Position Overview:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of projects, ensuring they are developed, planned, executed, and finalized within budget constraints while meeting operational and customer specifications. This role requires adherence to established project timelines.
Core Responsibilities:
- Contributes to achieving operational goals by providing insights and recommendations that enhance existing strategic initiatives and processes.
- Facilitates project kick-off meetings to outline project scope, timelines, budgets, and delivery expectations for the project execution team. This includes regular project updates that detail the percentage of project completion and cash flow forecasts, encompassing customer payments and supplier outflows.
- Ensures that all members of the Project Team meet customer, delivery, and financial targets. In cases of identified risks, the Senior Project Manager will propose action plans to relevant management to realign projects with objectives.
- Enhances professional knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, reading industry publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in relevant organizations.
- Acquires and comprehends the technical requirements necessary for transitioning from European to North American standards.
- Acts as the Primary Project Manager for large-scale initiatives, creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that identifies key deliverables, production milestones, and financial targets, ensuring all team members are aligned with these objectives.
- Identifies the critical path within project documentation and ensures that adequate resources are allocated to maintain project schedules.
- Completes Project Close-out reports and conducts meetings with relevant stakeholders to extract lessons learned, collaborating with team members to formulate strategies for future projects to enhance outcomes.
- Possesses a fundamental understanding of revenue models, profit/loss statements, and cost-to-completion estimates.
- Maximizes the potential of each project team member through effective utilization.
This is a full-time salaried position requiring flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a preference for a background in Project Management. Certification as a Project Manager is advantageous, along with a technical background in engineering and estimating experience.
- Proficient in English, with the ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, quotations, and detailed job instructions. Capable of writing reports and correspondence, and projecting a professional image to stakeholders.
