As a Registered Nurse in our Specialty Care Transplant Unit, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing Med/Surg and Solid Organ Transplant procedures. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in delivering direct nursing care, administering prescribed medications, developing patient care plans, and conducting thorough bedside assessments. You will work alongside experienced nurses who are committed to mentoring and supporting new graduates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care in line with established policies and protocols.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
  • Evaluate and update care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate care across all disciplines for seamless patient management.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per approved nursing protocols.
  • Assess and address patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Provide educational resources and support to patients and their families.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through formal and informal education.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
  • Advanced certifications may be required based on specific unit needs.

Work Environment:

  • Requires critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is expected.
