Position Overview: The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in our Liver Transplant Unit. This unit is renowned for its commitment to patient-centered healthcare and is recognized as a leader in transplant services.

Unit Description: The G101 Transplant Specialty Care Unit focuses on solid organ transplants, specifically for kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestine. This step-down unit features 34 beds, including private and semi-private rooms, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Our team engages in daily huddles to promote a positive atmosphere and ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to patients.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust patient care plans as necessary.
  • Document and communicate patient conditions effectively.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess discharge needs and coordinate care accordingly.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding care plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • At least one year of recent acute care RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Work Environment: The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment. The physical demands include lifting and handling patients, standing for extended periods, and working under varying conditions.

Certifications Required:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of BLS certification must be provided upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required for critical care areas.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and respond appropriately.

Personal Protective Equipment: Adherence to standard precautions and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
