In your role as a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients who are either recovering from or awaiting heart or lung transplants.
Your expertise will encompass a variety of critical skills, including chest tube and central line insertion, managing complex medical histories, and administering innovative pain management and nutritional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering direct nursing care to patients.
- Monitoring and documenting patient conditions accurately.
- Developing and implementing individualized patient care plans.
- Administering medications as prescribed.
- Conducting thorough bedside hand-off reports and daily rounds.

Weekend Flex Program:
This role offers a unique opportunity for those seeking flexibility in their work schedule while providing essential patient care during weekends. The Weekend Flex Program allows you to work two 12-hour shifts on weekends, along with one additional 12-hour shift during the week.
Weekend shifts commence at 7:00 PM on Fridays and conclude at 7:30 AM on Mondays, enabling you to enjoy personal time during the week.

Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established protocols. Monitor and document patient conditions, ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team. Evaluate and adjust care plans to meet patient needs and outcomes. Administer prescribed treatments and medications, and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team. Provide education and resources to patients and families, ensuring understanding and compliance.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN preferred. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional certifications may be necessary based on specific unit requirements.
Work Environment:
This role demands critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to function with minimal supervision in a high-pressure environment. Physical stamina is required, including the ability to lift and move patients, and work extended hours under stress.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Adherence to standard precautions and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
