Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente nurses are guided by an integrated nursing model that prioritizes patient-centered care. As a Lead Registered Nurse, you will coordinate activities of the interdisciplinary team and monitor departmental throughput to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective, and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day patient care activities within the department and serve as a resource for the healthcare team, providers, and ancillary departments.
  • Manage multiple scheduling tasks and assignments, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Evaluate emergency situations and lead the nursing response to clinical emergencies.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and ensure quality controls are completed.
  • Engage in continuous rounding within the department to ensure patient throughput and flow, providing assistance as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, providers, and management team using various channels, including email, teams chat, and huddles.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, healthcare team, and internal/external customers, supporting resolution.
  • Participate in departmental Quality Assurance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and standards.
  • Serve as a preceptor, resource, and mentor for new members of the healthcare team and nursing students.
  • Participate in departmental orientation, training, and competency validation of new staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of current RN clinical experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in the area of specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty Certification at time of hire or within 1 (one) year.
  • Bachelors (BSN) degree.
