Lead Registered Nurse

Kaiser Permanente nurses are guided by an integrated nursing model that prioritizes patient-centered care. As a Lead Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in coordinating activities of the interdisciplinary team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate day-to-day patient care activities within the department, serving as a resource for the healthcare team, providers, and ancillary departments.
- Manage multiple scheduling tasks and assignments, demonstrating sound decision-making and self-direction.
- Evaluate emergency situations and lead the nursing response to clinical emergencies.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and ensure quality controls are completed, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
- Engage in continuous rounding within the department to ensure patient throughput and flow, providing assistance as needed.
- Ensure clear communication with the healthcare team, providers, and management team through various channels, including email, teams chat, and huddles.
- Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, healthcare team, and internal/external customers, supporting resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in departmental Quality Assurance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and standards.
- Serve as a preceptor, resource, and mentor for new members of the healthcare team and nursing students, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Participate in departmental orientation, training, and competency validation of new staff, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Provide at least one training in-service per year, promoting ongoing education and professional growth.
- Minimum two years of current RN clinical experience.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in the area of specialty.
- Associates degree in nursing.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) required at hire.
- Basic Life Support required at hire from American Heart Association.
- N/A
- Specialty Certification at time of hire or within one year.
- Bachelors (BSN) degree.
