Job Summary

The Plumbing Engineering Specialist is an integral part of the design team, taking projects from conceptual design to completion in collaboration with the team and clients. The primary role will be project design within the plumbing & fire protection discipline in coordination with the project team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that company technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of projects for clients.
  • Assist in developing plumbing and fire protection design approaches and concepts on assigned projects and request assistance from senior technical staff when needed.
  • Delegate work tasks and collaborate with subordinate staff, monitor and review delegated work for accuracy.
  • Perform specific engineering studies and design analysis.
  • Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as required.
  • Perform on-site inspections during construction and coordinate design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Use design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations and/or client groups where the technical reputation and image of the firm may be enhanced.
  • When directed by the President, Project Manager, or Chief Engineer, assume other duties.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of plumbing and fire protection engineering experience.
  • Healthcare project experience is preferred but not required.
  • Past experience in design and experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
