Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our team at CDR Maguire, Inc. As a key member of our engineering staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects in accordance with contract documents and Rhode Island Department of Transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day construction oversight, monitor contractor performance, schedule, responsiveness, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure construction is executed in accordance with the contract documents, RIDOT, and FHWA regulations.
  • Manage contractor to maintain project cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Manage inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with RIDOT requirements.
  • Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractor RFI's and review of shop drawings.
  • Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
  • Manage the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments as required to monitor the contractor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of Resident Engineering or related experience preferably with a State Department of Transportation OR Minimum 5 years with Engineer in Training certification OR Minimum 1 year with Current RI PE license.
  • Proficiency with Headlight and/or Bluebeam software preferred.
