Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Academic Advisor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success and retention of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advising services to students, assisting them with educational and career planning.
  • Conduct computerized degree audits to advisees and track student academic progress.
  • Communicate with students at designated times each semester, focusing on student success, retention, and completion.
  • Refer students to academic support resources, such as tutoring labs and faculty, as well as personal support services within the college or community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Student Personnel Counseling, or a related field.
  • 6 months of experience advising students, preferably in a higher education institution.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with personnel at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings.
