Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Detoxification Specialist to join our team. As a Detoxification Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to clients in our detoxification program. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and their families.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide emotional support and guidance to clients in our detoxification program.
2. Assist with intake, admission, and discharge procedures.
3. Maintain unit security and assist in basic crisis intervention.
4. Facilitate groups as assigned.
5. Help keep unit clean.
6. Serve daily meals.
7. Orient new clients to unit and to the guidelines of the facility.
8. Perform timely room checks.
9. Perform hourly bed checks.
10. Maintain an accurate Shift Log documenting the day's events.
11. Assist in client drug testing and documentation.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
13. Monitor and document unusual client behavior and notify counselors of concerns.
14. Transport clients as needed.
15. Maintain client charts.
16. Account for all client charts on unit.
17. Build and break down charts as needed.
18. Pick up and distribute client paperwork.
19. Attend staffing for unit.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prefer one-year experience in a mental health setting.
• A valid Oklahoma driver's license.

Knowledge and Skills:

We are looking for individuals with:

• Knowledge of the problems of alcoholism/addiction, co-occurring disorders, and their effect on the individual and their family.
• Individual and group behavior.
• The impact on health, economic, and social issues.
• Community resources available to persons experiencing alcohol/drug-related problems.
• The short and long-term effects of alcohol/drug dependency.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires:

• The ability to negotiate stairs.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
