Behavior Specialist for Students with Autism

About the Role:

Tulsa Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Specialist for Students with Autism to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of our students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and instruct students in a variety of school settings, providing individualized support and guidance to ensure their academic and personal growth.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Behavior Plans to promote positive behaviors and outcomes for our students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for all students.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • One year of experience working with children with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • CPR and First Aid training, as well as certification in district-approved relationship-building and de-escalation strategies, are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of training and exam passed for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Certification with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
