Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Counselor II to join our team at the Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc. in Springfield, MA. As a Residential Counselor II, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals in our Community Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor and Residential Counselor Milieu Manager.
  • Accurately document all required information.
  • Act as a staff advocate for clients and provide support to management and program staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve program and agency goals.
  • Assist clients with daily tasks and responsibilities, including cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
  • Plan and organize recreational and social activities.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Program Director or Program Supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ and bilingual youth, is an asset.
