Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team at Emory University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing sports medicine services to our varsity athletes, overseeing all athletic training needs for our intercollegiate teams, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NATA, and NCAA/NJCAA medical recommendations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Sports Medicine Services: Consult with the Director of Student Health, coordinate the delivery of sports medicine services to all varsity athletes, and oversee all athletic training needs for our intercollegiate teams.
  • Manage Injuries: Assess varsity and non-varsity injuries, refer athletes for appropriate treatment, and develop and implement emergency action plans.
  • Coordinate Communication: Coordinate communication with athletes, coaches, parents, and physicians, and observe assessments conducted by physicians as appropriate.
  • Manage Documentation: Coordinate the management of documentation and obtaining of medical records with the Head Athletic Trainer.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, NATA, and NCAA/NJCAA medical recommendations and guidelines.
  • Develop Protocols: Manage the development and implementation of treatment and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Attend Events: Attend all home varsity games and perform related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree and NATABOC certification are preferred.
  • Experience: Three years of related experience, including administrative/management experience, is preferred.
  • Eligibility: Eligibility for State of Georgia licensure is required.
