Aircraft Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at Amentum. As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft to ensure they are airworthy and meet mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of aircraft components
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
  • Conduct 200-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections to ensure aircraft are airworthy
  • Inspect engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, and test engine operation using testing equipment
  • Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine-mounted gearboxes
  • Supervise and participate in the jacking and towing of aircraft, and enter maintenance records description of all work performed
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years H-60 Aviation Airframes experience as a qualified CDQAR
  • Ability to read and write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, and be proficient using computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, NALCOMIS/OOMA
  • Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability
  • Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks
  • Ability to meet physical requirements associated with and pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
