Reporting directly to the Group Brand President, the Vice President will oversee and direct the sales and operational strategies across various brands within the organization. This individual will also engage with corporate finance and the Group Brand President on financial planning, budgeting, and product forecasting.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly analyze the business from multiple perspectives to evaluate overall performance and develop both short-term and long-term operational strategies.
- Work in tandem with advertising and marketing leadership to ensure the team optimizes revenue opportunities from current and future offerings.
- Partner with advertising strategy to identify, prioritize, and execute new product and revenue initiatives that deliver value to target demographics and marketing clients through various channels including digital media, mobile, video, and integrated marketing services.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to maintain a strong business pipeline and uncover new revenue opportunities for the brands.
- Make informed decisions that strategically position the organization to achieve both immediate and future objectives.
- Ensure that the team is well-trained and knowledgeable about new products and sales techniques to maximize revenue generation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to sales leadership and support teams to drive revenue growth.
- Oversee daily budget management and operations for the brand group to effectively allocate resources in alignment with revenue and growth targets.
- Collaborate with sales leaders to achieve monthly advertising sales goals.
- Partner with the Brand President to manage expenditures, focusing on achieving brand margin objectives.
- Work with the sales enablement team to ensure client expectations and reporting standards are met.
- Ensure that sales managers and teams utilize CRM systems effectively to manage and enhance revenue pipelines.
- Streamline financial reporting processes in collaboration with the finance team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing and expanding a digital or integrated media business with diverse revenue streams. Ideal candidates will have recent experience in the commercial sector of a digital-first news or media organization, or management roles within media properties that prioritize digital publishing and marketing.
- Demonstrated capability in managing a full P&L and leading a cross-functional team.
- General management expertise developed through a background in advertising sales, operations, or strategic business management.
- A career trajectory that fosters trusted relationships within the industry and a strong profile among major national marketers, advertising agencies, and the digital media landscape.
- Comprehensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the marketing sector; must be well-versed in current challenges and trends impacting leading marketers and media companies.
- Success in fostering collaboration with editorial, media, strategy, and product teams.
- A history of recruiting, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams.

Success Metrics:
You will know you are successful in this role when you have achieved significant revenue and profit margin growth through effective digital sales strategies while ensuring the organization remains aligned with its news-driven value proposition and is well-positioned for sustainable future success.
This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
Compensation Overview:
The estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $275,000, with eligibility for a commission plan in addition to the base salary. The final salary will consider a variety of relevant factors, including experience and accomplishments. Crain also offers competitive benefits, including retirement plan contributions and bonus opportunities based on individual and company performance.
