Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician I (PCT I) plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing. Working in partnership with the licensed nurse, the PCT I demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to communicate effectively and carry out delegated tasks for age-specific populations.

The PCT I is responsible for recording data as directed by policy and procedure, and reporting observations and patient concerns to the licensed nurse. Key duties include obtaining vital signs, assisting patients with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating, collecting specimens for lab tests, and monitoring patients.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and ongoing monitoring and response to patient needs.
  • Organizes work to complete daily assignments within assigned timeframes.

Competencies:

  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment by following appropriate safety, infection control, and patient care policies.
  • Appropriately utilizes and charges for supplies used in patient care, ensuring cost-effective care with minimal waste.
  • Delivers therapeutic interventions to populations served under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Requirements:
