We are seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our client-facing team, you will be responsible for managing complex clients and providing exceptional service to drive business growth.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a book of business with diverse funding methods, advanced contract features, and structures requiring technical expertise and customization.
- Serve as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers, delivering best-in-class service to retain clients and drive growth.
- Provide strong insurance technical expertise to clients and internal teams, including strategic planning and risk management.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with carriers on behalf of clients and lead client meetings regarding renewals and utilization reports.
- Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts, leading client interests in internal USI resources where appropriate.
- Represent client interests during internal USI account strategy meetings and participate in peer review of standard and complex deliverables.
- Anticipate client needs and identify strategies to solve them, preparing materials for client meetings and serving as a technical expert on compliance topics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in the employee benefits industry or related marketplace, with a college degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits, including compliance topics like ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s, and Health Care Reform.
- Must hold a life and disability insurance license or obtain it within 4 months following date of employment.
- Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products, with strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
