Astrion, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Structural Engineer to support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) Modeling, Analysis, and Tools Support (SEMATS) contract.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform airworthiness and safety of flight evaluations of a wide variety of weapon systems and aircraft carriage platforms. This includes modeling, structural analysis, and creating technical drawings across multiple disciplines within the USAF SEEK EAGLE organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the structural integrity of aircraft, weapons, and suspension carriage systems based on approved loads, stress analysis, and test methods.
  • Develop and execute sophisticated aircraft load prediction tools for predicting aircraft and weapon inertia and aerodynamic loads and environments.
  • Develop and execute safe, efficient flight test plans.
  • Reduce and interpret flight test data.
  • Assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering and 3 years of experience; or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering and 2 years of experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain within 6-9 months).
  • Experience in weapon systems development, integration, structural analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with aerospace airworthiness requirements and experience with aerospace design and analysis methods.
