Job Summary

The Asphalt Materials team is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of construction aggregate materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and sample construction aggregate materials to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct routine and special laboratory testing on construction aggregate materials.
  • Perform troubleshooting and recommend corrective action for issues arising on field and job site locations.
  • Verify test results with outside testing agencies and maintain accurate and timely records on test data, product quality, and defective materials.
  • Gather quality samples from large aggregate stockpiles.
  • Perform all INDOT required and aggregate quality testing while maintaining all required paperwork and computer files.
  • Maintain proper order and cleanliness in the laboratory, stairs, and catwalks.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Current INDOT Certification preferred.
  • Experience with INDOT and CAPP preferred.
  • MSHA Trained preferred. Experience with aggregate lab testing is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Ability to work on catwalks.
  • Positive attitude and ability to be a team player.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends when needed.
Work Site Conditions

The primary location is in Columbus, IN. The flexibility of traveling to other locations in southern Indiana during the day is required.

As a Quality Control Technician with Asphalt Materials, you will be exposed to various work site conditions, including weather exposure, temperature extremes, noise, odors, dust or mist, fumes or vapors, and limited access.
