About the Role

The Contemplative Sciences Center (CSC) is seeking a highly skilled Social Media and Marketing Associate to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to elevate our online presence and engagement, broaden awareness of our programming and activities, and enhance our brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute social media strategies across major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to increase engagement and awareness of CSC's programming and activities.
  • Support the digital marketing of CSC's events and projects across the UVA community and to the public.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote CSC's brand and programming.
  • Manage and maintain CSC's social media presence, including creating and scheduling content, responding to comments and messages, and analyzing engagement metrics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, to promote CSC's programming and activities.
  • Provide support for event marketing, including drafting and creating invitations, event collateral, graphics, and SWAG.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in social media marketing and digital marketing.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing social media strategies across major platforms.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills, including the ability to craft engaging content.
  • Ability to work with and identify with student populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with contemplative practices such as mindfulness, meditation, etc.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the marketing or advertising industry.
