Position Overview:

The Bartender at Malibu Jacks is tasked with crafting both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for our patrons. This role involves engaging with guests, processing orders, and serving drinks according to established recipes. Additionally, the Bartender must accurately input each order into the POS system, anticipate customer preferences, and provide tailored recommendations.

  • Ensure an exceptional guest experience through attentive service.
  • Uphold quality, consistency, and sanitation standards as per company and state regulations.
  • Foster a collaborative environment through teamwork and motivation.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean and organized, including washing glassware and tidying surfaces.
  • Restock supplies as necessary, including alcohol, ice, fruit, and beer kegs during slower periods.
Financial Responsibilities:

  • Accurately portion all orders to maintain cost efficiency.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly.
  • Ensure all sales are recorded in the POS system.
Sales Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with management to drive growth and profitability.
  • Implement strategies to enhance sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of menu items to effectively upsell.
Safety Protocols:

  • Maintain a hazard-free environment for both staff and guests.
  • Address and rectify any safety concerns immediately.
  • Adhere to guidelines to prevent over-serving alcohol.
  • Verify the identification of patrons to ensure compliance with age regulations.
Qualifications:

  • Prior bar experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of bar operations.
  • Ability to follow drink recipes and maintain precise pour sizes.
  • Capable of remaining composed under pressure.
  • Proficient in handling guest complaints.
  • TIPS Certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:

Familiarity with operating the POS system is essential.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and interpret business documents, professional journals, and regulations.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, proportions, and tips.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various forms of instructions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Position involves physical activity, including walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work on holidays and weekends is required.
