Facility Operations Supervisor

The primary responsibility of the Facility Operations Supervisor is to manage the Recreation Center Building effectively. The supervisor is accountable for fulfilling the essential duties as detailed in this overview. This position is part-time, with work hours ranging from 10 to 30 hours per week. There may be occasional meetings and training sessions scheduled during weekends or evenings.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and telephone communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Valid Class D driver's license
- Additional certifications may be required as necessary
Essential Knowledge:
- Fundamental understanding of cleaning and custodial responsibilities
- Awareness of emergency services available in the community
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required by the first day of employment
- Ability to follow directives from the Aquatic & Facility Supervisor
- Strong communication skills for presenting ideas and recommendations clearly
- Capability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in operating various facilities efficiently
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all staff and patrons
- Skill in resolving conflicts professionally
- Capacity to work effectively in public areas
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
- Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal
- Must complete the Park District's Defensive Driving training
Typical work hours are from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM on weekdays and from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM on weekends, with a total of 10 to 30 hours per week. Overtime may be required for special events as approved by the Aquatic & Facility Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain communication with the Aquatic & Facility Supervisor regarding operational issues
- Adhere to policies and procedures for safe operations as outlined in the Procedures Manual
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patrons and the community
- Ensure regular attendance and punctuality
- Keep the work environment clean and organized
- Prepare rooms for scheduled activities and events
- Follow the cleaning schedule as per the Daily Responsibilities Checklist
- Assist participants during room rentals as needed
- Secure the facility at closing time
- Provide customer service to patrons requiring assistance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Aquatic & Facility Supervisor
The role requires physical strength, stamina, and mobility to perform moderate to heavy work. The incumbent will regularly engage in various physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive motions. Vision, hearing, and speech capabilities are essential for monitoring facility conditions and interacting with participants.
Work may occur indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on assigned duties.
