The Senior Living Care Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Resident Care in delivering exceptional care and operational efficiency within the Assisted Living and Memory Care departments. This position is instrumental in coordinating care services delivered by our team of caregivers and medication aides, ensuring that our residents receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of care services to residents, ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal and State regulations.
- Assist the Director of Resident Care in the recruitment, evaluation, and supervision of department staff, focusing on candidates with a passion for elder care and dementia management.
- Manage departmental schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels in line with company policies and state requirements.
- Facilitate ongoing education and training programs for caregivers and medication aides, adhering to licensing standards.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new staff, ensuring they are well-versed in departmental goals and procedures.
- Coordinate training sessions to ensure staff competency in medication administration, emergency protocols, and record-keeping.
- Monitor personal care services and medication administration, ensuring thorough documentation is maintained.
- Arrange for coverage of duties during staff breaks and absences, ensuring continuity of care.
- Assist in resident assessments and monitor changes in health status, collaborating with the Director of Resident Care.
- Engage with residents and their families to provide support and information regarding care plans.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for prescription management and medication delivery.
- Support infection control initiatives and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Participate in community outreach and property tours to promote our services.
- Maintain a safe environment for residents and staff, adhering to established safety standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings to discuss key issues and updates.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor departmental expenses.
- Perform clerical tasks associated with the role as needed.
- Promote teamwork and a positive work environment through collaborative interactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State-required certifications.
- Preferred experience in residential care for the elderly or specialized dementia care.
- Preferred supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- LPN/LVN licensure is required.
