Sustainable Energy Market Analyst
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the renewable energy generation landscape in the United States, including power markets, tradable environmental commodities, and strong analytical and programming skills.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience in fixed asset accounting within regulated utility sectors is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide insights and analytical support regarding environmental markets in relation to acquisition and divestiture initiatives.
- Develop and present market perspectives, including trading strategies for national, state, and local environmental markets such as carbon, NOx, SOx, and REC programs.
- Assist in accurately recording capital project expenditures and asset unitization details.
- Oversee the closure, retirement, and transfer processes for capital projects.
- Maintain and analyze Continuing Property Records in a systematic and precise manner.
- Ensure all Continuing Property Records comply with GAAP and FERC regulations.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and execute PowerPlan monthly closing activities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of capitalization regulations, rules, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Tax team to ensure accurate and timely data for provision calculations.
- Work with the Property Tax team to provide timely and precise data for assessments.
- Support the Regulatory team with filings related to state commission rate cases, FERC annual revenue requirements, and preparation of FERC Form 1 fixed asset data.
- Assist in the preparation of fixed asset schedules to facilitate the annual financial statement audit.
- Help maintain the PowerPlan fixed asset system and implement necessary system upgrades.
- Ensure responses to regulatory data requests are comprehensive, accurate, and timely.
- Guarantee that the information provided is precise and presented in a clear and understandable format.
