About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our Kinship Services program as a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Kinship Care Specialist. This full-time position will be based in our Seattle office and involves working with kinship families in King County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide wraparound support to kinship families, including assessment, case management, and placement support.
  • Assist kinship families with completing the foster care licensure process with DCYF, including connecting with resources and identifying and addressing barriers.
  • Liaise with multiple professionals in the child welfare arena, including DCYF workers, CASAs, and service providers.
  • Facilitate kinship workshops and support groups, including trauma-informed triad support groups.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of paid social service experience, or a master's degree and one year of paid social service experience, are required.
  • Candidates must be proficient in writing and speaking in both English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of child development and family systems is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative, discretion, maturity, flexibility, and independent judgment are required.
  • The ideal candidate will have lived experience with the child welfare system and be able to work effectively with diverse populations.
