Leadership Development Program Overview

The Polaris Sales Leadership Development Program (SLDP) is a two-year development program designed to accelerate career development for recent college graduates who wish to further develop core business, leadership, and sales competencies.

Program Objectives
  • To provide recent college graduates with challenging assignments to accelerate their career development for future positions of significant responsibility.
  • To give participants an introduction to what working at Polaris is all about and help them decide where they can best apply their interests to meet the company's needs.
  • To establish mentor relationships with Polaris business leadership that will continue throughout their career with the company.
Program Structure

The program consists of two years of rotational assignments, with each rotation lasting six months. Participants will have the opportunity to work in various roles within Sales, including Low Funnel Marketing & Sales, Business Development & Channel, Product Line Sales, and Field Sales.

Areas of Exposure
  • Low Funnel Marketing & Sales: Participants will gain exposure to local dealer marketing, dealer trainings & development, dealer communications, and dealer website strategy.
  • Business Development & Channel: Participants will gain exposure to dealer policies, dealer distribution footprint, key market performance management, and showroom display & merchandising.
  • Product Line Sales: Participants will gain exposure to program development & execution, demand/supply analytics, competitive analysis, and retail critical thinking leadership.
  • Field Sales: Participants will gain exposure to dealership experience, retail root cause & countermeasure, dealer operations improvement, and solicitation ownership.

Selection Process

Applications will be open from September to December 2024. If selected, participants will participate in a MS Teams panel interview with an HR leader and two functional business leaders. Upon accepting an offer, participants will collaborate with the Early Talent team to be matched with their first rotational assignment, team, and location through a thorough matching process.

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in Sales, Marketing, or other related field, with a graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be willing to travel and relocate between sites for their rotations, as well as be mobile beyond the rotational program to support their career development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Active leadership experience in student organizations and/or work experiences with interest to continue to grow their leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Internship/Co-op experience.
  • Previous dealership experience.
  • Previous internship experience working in a powersports or manufacturing industry.
  • Previous internship experience working with durable goods or equipment.
  • Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or classroom.
