Position Summary:

The IOP Addiction Counselor at Uprising Addiction Center is responsible for delivering addiction and mental health services to clients enrolled in the Intensive Outpatient Program. As a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, the Counselor will provide direct services, including individual, family, and group therapy, assessments, consultations, and crisis interventions within the scope of their professional license.

Target Population:

Age Group: Adults (18 years and older)

Clientele: Individuals meeting DSM-5 criteria for substance use disorders, with or without co-occurring mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stay informed about current literature and advancements in the field, attending required training sessions.
  2. Document clinical services provided accurately and timely.
  3. Possess a working knowledge of ASAM levels of care and medical necessity.
  4. Ensure confidentiality of client records in accordance with applicable laws.
  5. Coordinate with outpatient MAT providers for appropriate referrals.
  6. Deliver professional and ethical therapy to clients through various counseling methods.
  7. Document casework in compliance with agency policies, including assessments and progress reports.
  8. Propose improvements to protocols or services to enhance client care.
  9. Understand and adhere to compliance standards as outlined in organizational policies.
  10. Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Physical and Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this position require the ability to stand or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The role involves frequent contact with water and working with potentially hazardous materials, necessitating adherence to OSHA standards and universal precautions. The work environment may be fast-paced and involve varying levels of stress.
