Job Overview

Shriners Children's is a leading pediatric medical center that provides exceptional care to children and their families. We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The successful candidate will work alongside our Pediatric Physiatrist to provide intensive function-based therapy in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in your practice by being exposed to burns, orthopaedic, acute care, outpatient settings, and program development.

Responsibilities
  • Implement a systematic patient examination and evaluation utilizing a comprehensive, patient and family-centered approach to decision making incorporating national standards and the AMA CPT codes.
  • Design, develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address presenting symptoms or concerns of a communication and/or swallowing problem or related functional issue to optimize function.
  • Makes appropriate discharge plans by collaborating with patients, their families, care management, and community resources such as schools/outside therapy clinics, and actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Supports risk management and compliance initiatives through accurate thorough documentation.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Speech Pathology required
  • licensed in state of practice
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) required
  • 1 year experience in a pediatric setting preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
