Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer Senior to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our ISD Network Services department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our voice communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement voice, data, and network system hardware and software recommendations.
  • Provide support in the analysis, selection, integration, installation, documentation, and maintenance of telecommunication systems or test equipment and devices.
  • Maintain required records and documentation and liaise with outside vendors to order equipment and services as required.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on voice and data communications equipment, networks, and systems and assist in resolving system integration issues.
  • Provide support for the installation of various voice, data, and network equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Valid NC Driver's license.
  • Four (4) years of experience in communications or electronics engineering (if a Bachelor's degree), six (6) years (if an Associate's degree), or eight (8) years (if a High School diploma or GED).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly responsive to internal customers.

Work Environment:

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System, in a department that provides shared services to operations across UNC Health Care.
