Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories
Administer oral solutions to patients as needed
Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders
Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required
Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport
Perform all non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate
Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures

Requirements:

Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Keyboard/data entry experience
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington
