Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program.
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
  • Draft and revise company policies.
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses.
  • Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments.
  • Create plans to manage a company's compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct training and presentations for compliance awareness and understanding.
  • Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
  • Ensure all departments meet compliance requirements and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with internal standards and business goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business management or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Manager in the finance industry with a minimum of 5+ years.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • An analytical mind able to 'see' the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new software as needed.
  • Experience with non-profit accounting, grants, and nonprofit accounting.
  • Professional certification in compliance such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) will be an added advantage.
