Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to represent Welborn and foster ongoing relationships with clients and customers. This full-time position involves assisting with various projects and sites. Key responsibilities include conducting routine equipment inspections and maintenance, loading and unloading machinery, and ensuring that work sites are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Success in this role requires adherence to health and safety regulations and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Exceptional equipment operators demonstrate excellent hand and foot coordination and continuously seek ways to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments to equipment.
  • Complete daily checklists to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures to maintain safety.
  • Submit all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow corporate guidelines for safe operations.
  • Comply with environmental health and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular cleaning, lubrication, and safety checks on machinery.
  • Ensure proper positioning of equipment before operation.
  • Keep work sites organized and secure.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary.
  • Inspect machinery before and after use to confirm it is in good condition.
  • Operate heavy machinery to accomplish site tasks.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment settings to ensure correct operation.
  • Carry out minor repairs as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking oil, water, and tire conditions.
  • Utilize various equipment for general site preparation.
  • Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Work under general supervision with some autonomy for decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Prior experience in equipment operation is required.
  • Physical capabilities aligned with job demands.
  • Experience with loaders, bulldozers, and other utility equipment.
  • Possession of relevant licenses and safety certifications.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Expected to operate equipment with a high level of skill and proficiency.
  • Knowledge of both light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Understanding of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance practices.
  • Capability to read, comprehend, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to hazards requiring adherence to safety precautions.
  • Regular exposure to various environmental elements, including extreme temperatures and noise.
  • Physical activity involving lifting, pushing, or pulling objects under 50 pounds.
  • Excellent hand and foot coordination.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions that mitigate risks and prevent property damage.
