As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing care plans that encompass medication administration, specimen collection, and various clinical treatments. Your role will involve meticulous documentation of patient care provided, as well as monitoring and communicating patient conditions effectively to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including transfer, discharge, and referrals, while addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs.
3. Assess the educational needs of patients and their families, delivering tailored education that considers age, culture, and specific health conditions.
4. Advocate for the physical and emotional health of patients, ensuring their well-being is prioritized.
Minimum Education Requirements
Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential. Candidates must be capable of functioning in high-pressure environments and taking appropriate actions as necessary.
Certifications Required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire, with ongoing maintenance required.
Licensure
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or from a Compact State is mandatory.
