Haywood Regional Medical Center seeks a skilled Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and respond to potential and actual security threats in a proactive and timely manner.
- Investigate and manage all security incidents and hazards on the premises.
- Maintain knowledge of and follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
- Facilitate planned drills and simulations to ensure preparedness.
- Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote their safety on the premises.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred for Security Guard.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required for Security/Medical Specialist.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist within 30 days of hire.
- American Heart Association First Aid certification required for Security Guard within 30 days of hire.
- Handle With Care certification required for Security Guard and Security/Medical Specialist within 6 months of hire.
- Current North Carolina Nursing Assistant or EMT licensure required for Security/Medical Specialist only.
