Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team at Nucor Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, forklifts, and scrap handlers.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any defects or needed repairs to supervisors.
  • Remove metals and debris from conveyor belts and perform general labor duties as needed.
  • Work in outdoor and indoor environments, including heights above one story.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment, including shredders, eddy currents, and hydraulic systems.
  • Change liners, grates, hammers, and other components on shredders and other equipment.
  • Assist other teammates as needed and cross-train in other positions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, excavators, forklifts, and scrap handlers.
  • Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day and walk up several flights of stairs.
  • Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Strong mechanical abilities, including welding, torching, and fabrication.
  • Ability to work closely with others in a team environment and communicate effectively in English.
