Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup and production methods.
  • Select and position dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machines, using precision tools and gauges.
  • Adjust machine controls to set and regulate machining factors, such as pressure, speed, and blade angle.
  • Locate and mark bending or cutting lines on work pieces, using instruments and templates.
  • Start machines and observe operations to reposition work pieces, change dies, or adjust machine settings.
  • Inspect or measure work pieces, using precision tools and gauges.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
  • Work individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • May be required to cross-train and demonstrate competency in all essential job functions of the department.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
  • Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
