Job Title: Assistant Manufacturing Engineer

Join Parker Hannifin Corporation, a leading global aerospace company, as an Assistant Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you will assist manufacturing engineers in determining the methods and sequence of manufacturing operations for products, machine parts, and assemblies to achieve efficient and reliable manufacturing processes and workflow.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather information about manufacturing processes by requesting information from suppliers and soliciting observations from operators/production technicians.
  • Assist in the manufacturing process by creating and/or editing travelers and/or work instructions that include the areas of fabrication, assembly, test, and rework information.
  • Plan detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases.
  • Reduce set-up and run times by researching and assisting in determining the tool and fixture needs of manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as liaison between fabrication, assembly, test, engineering and suppliers with manufacturing related issues.
  • Reduce processing costs by reviewing the causes for rejections and assists in determining root cause, corrective action and the prevention of reoccurrence on manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain and provide status and priority information, progress reports, or other related communications on assigned programs and projects.
  • Analyze proposed changes in methods and materials and contribute to continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production activities.
  • Recommend cost reduction opportunities and may be assigned to special projects.
Requirements:
  • Trade school course completion, AA, or equivalent external training in Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of aerospace or similar industry products and manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Considerable knowledge of manufacturing routings, travelers, blueprints, and/or the overall production process.
  • Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods to manufacturing functions.
