About the Role:

The Case Specialist provides direct care, assistance, guidance, support, and supervision to facility guests. This role requires strong communication skills and bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment, maintaining a respectful relationship with guests and providing high-level responsiveness and social awareness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet residents and guests into the facility and provide general information
  • Communicate necessary information to facility guests as needed
  • Assist and offer support to facility guests, including medical and travel assistance
  • Provide food, hygiene products, water, and other essential items
  • Communicate available community resources and aids
  • Assist with intake, crowd control, facility process flows, and transportation schedules
  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality
  • Establish and maintain rapport with guests
  • Work effectively in high-volume operations with multiple levels of complexity
  • Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of practice
Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • 1 year of experience working with migrant populations, emergency response, or other work related to vulnerable populations
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to type 45 wpm
Work Environment:

This role is based in the San Diego area at a Migrant Processing Day Center. Tasks and assignments will be dynamic and may change based on needs and resource availability. The role may require additional administrative support, including data entry and other duties as needed.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with shifts during operating hours. Shifts may vary depending on needs and may include travel, evenings, or weekends to meet project requirements.

Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years
Physical Demands:

To perform the essential functions of the job, qualified candidates must be able to perform the following: reaching, grasping, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, mobility to sit for extended periods, carry, load, and unload luggage up to 50lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, push/pull objects occasionally/frequently, and work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat/cold/noise.

Pay: $21 per hour
