Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Nurse to join our team at Novant Health. As a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in our Cardiovascular Surgical ICU unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for patients in the Cardiovascular Surgical ICU unit.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing emotional support and education throughout the patient's stay.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • One year of relevant experience in a critical care or cardiovascular surgical ICU setting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of EKG rhythms and ability to manage cardiac patients.
